Pain Of Salvation - New Video Clip, Working On New Album

Falling Home, the acoustic album by Swedish progressive innovators Pain Of Salvation, was recently released via InsideOutMusic and now the band has debuted the new promotional video clip for the album's title track. Check out below the atmospheric clip for "Falling Home", which was shot in Iceland by director Hilmir Berg Ragnarsson and produced by Hilmir Berg Ragnarsson and Soley Astudottir. But there is more. In other news, Pain Of Salvation are currently also working on a new studio album effort, which will "see the band going back to its harder roots of the early albums again". Pain Of Salvation - Release New Video

Pain Of Salvation have launched a new video. The atmospheric video clip was directed by Stefan Daniels for the brilliant song "1979". The track first appeared on the Swedish proggers' album Road Salt Two (2011) and is also taken from the upcoming acoustic album Falling Home. Don't forget to watch the new video here.

Pain Of Salvation - Announce Release Of Acoustic Album

While fans might be eager for the follow-up to Road Salt Two, prog innovators Pain Of Salvation just announced officially their much anticipated acoustic album, Falling Home, which will finally be released in Europe on November 10th, 2014 via the band's longtime label partner InsideOutMusic. This album is a very special album, which contains reimagined versions of favourite catalogue songs, two cover versions ("Holy Diver" by Dio and "Perfect Day" by Lou Reed) and a brand new song (the title track, "Falling Home").

Pain Of Salvation - Confirm N. American Tour With Vangough

Good news for Pain Of Salvation fans in the U.S., Mexico and Canada. The band just confirmed a North American tour for September with special guests and proggers Vangough. Daniel Gildenlöw now seems recovered from the flesh eating bacteria infection that bothered him earlier this year. He returned with a performance at Sweden Rock festival, the first since the illness. The North American tour sees the band playing two very special shows in Atlanta, during the ProgPower USA festival, including a once-in-a-lifetime performance of the band's masterpiece Remedy Lane in its entirety.

Pain Of Salvation - Performing At Progressive Nation At Sea Without Daniel Gildenlöw

As you will probably know, Pain Of Salvation's singer/guitarist Daniel Gildenlöw contracted a streptococcal infection (a flesh-eating bacteria) some weeks ago. Despite a pretty reassuring update on his condition, it seems like Daniel won't be able to join the band at Progressive Nation At Sea 2014 this month.

As many of you already know, Pain Of Salvation's singer Daniel Gildenlöw is going through some serious health problems. Luckily, it seems that the worst is over, as Daniel himelf posted a statement on the band's official Facebook page updating on what is going on.

Pain Of Salvation - Daniel Gildenlöw Contracts Infection

This is worrying. Pain Of Salvation's mastermind Daniel Gildenlöw has recently contracted a streptococcal infection (some nasty flesh eating bacteria) and has been urgently hospitalized. Daniel will therefore not be participating on the upcoming Transatlantic US tour but that is the least of his worries right now. More importantly, the guitarist/singer is recovering well after surgery and antibiotics. Hopefully, he can leave the hospital in a few weeks and make a full recovery.

Pain Of Salvation - Announce European Acoustic Tour

Proggers Pain Of Salvation have a couple of exciting things in store this year. First, the band will embark on a European tour in April which will be exclusively acoustic based. During the three weeks of dates, Pain Of Salvation will be joined by Dutch singer/songwriter Anneke Van Giersbergen (ex-The Gathering) and Árstíðir from Iceland. Furthermore, the band will be heading out to tour in North America in May but the details are still under wraps for now.

Alpha Flood - Ex-Pain Of Salvation, Threshold, Darkwater Members Form New Band

Musicians from several prog groups are joining forces in the new band called Alpha Flood. This new band features past and present members of Frost*, Pain Of Salvation, Threshold, Darkwater and Neal Morse. Sounds promising? Alpha Flood is currently in the studio letting their creative juices flow and recording their debut album to be released in 2013.

Pain Of Salvation - New Guitarist Announced

Pain Of Salvation is now complete, with the addition of their new guitarist Ragnar Zolberg. The band had this to say about the new addition: "We are certain that Ragnar will have everything that's needed to kick your asses on the upcoming tour, and our first four days of rehearsals only strengthened that feeling. He is an excellent guitar player and an outstanding vocalist, and he knows how to make use of those abilities while rocking out on stage. On top of that he is an awesome person. What's not to like?"

Pain Of Salvation - First European Tour Dates Announced

Swedish progressive metallers Pain Of Salvation have announced their headlining tour of Central Europe for February and March 2012. See the list of the dates announced so far below. Vocalist and guitarist Daniel Gildenlöw comments: "This trip has been odd since we all know that Johan and Fredrik are leaving the band. We are enjoying ourselves on stage in the same way a typical Swede enjoys those late fall days of bonus summer, haha. That said, we have a very interesting line-up for February."
